The Verge is an American technology news website, run by Vox media. The portal is popular for its technological news, feature stories, guidebooks, product reviews, and podcasts. The Verge runs two YouTube channels, The Verge and Verge Science. The Verge’s Youtube channels monitor news from the world of high technologies, science, and timely brings them to its readers.

The Verge is an ambitious multimedia effort established in 2011. The overall aim of the portal was to examine how technology will change life in the future for a massive mainstream audience. The company provides readers with relevant, impartial, and reliable information that helps users in their professional activities and in everyday life.

Basically, The verge is a publication about development and everything related to it. Every day, the company publishes the latest news from the IT world and educational articles in order to create a stream of information for technological lovers.

The website was founded on November 1, 2011, and uses Vox media’s proprietary multimedia publishing platform – “Chorus”. In 2013, Naily Patel was chosen as editor-in-chief and Dieter Bohn executive editor, whereas Helen Havlak was named editorial director in 2017.

For the year 2012, The Verge succeeded five Webby Awards for Best Writing, Best Podcasts for The Vergecast, Best Visual Design, Best Consumer Electronics Site, and Best Mobile News App.

In September 2018, a video reporter from The Verge PC build, Stefan Etienne, was criticized for numerous errors for his uploaded YouTube video on “How we Built a $2000 Custom Gaming PC”.

Between March and April 2011, a total of nine of Engadget’s writers, editors, and developers, including editor-in-chief Joshua Topolsky, departed AOL to commence a distinct technological website. Furthermore, the managing editor Nilay Patel and staffers  Paul Miller, Ross Miller, Joanna Stern, Chris Ziegler, and developers Justin Glow, and Dan Chilton also left.

In April 2011, Topolsky declared that their unnamed new site would be created together with the sports news website SB Nation. And some news reported that the partnership became positive for both SB Nation and Topolsky’s staff.

The CEO and Chairman of Vox Media, Bankoff worked at AOL in 2005, where he led their Engadget acquisition. The Chorus, a CMS of Vox Media, led by Trei Brundrett became the chief operating officer for the company later on.

Following in 2011, Topolsky stated that the Engadget podcast hosted by Patel, Paul Miller, and himself would proceed as “This Is My Next”.

By Aug October 2011, the site had crossed a massive number along with 1 million unique visitors and 3.4 million page views, and  3 million unique views per month and 10 million total page views respectively. Time placed the site in its Best Blogs of 2011.

On June 11, 2014, The Verge launched a new section called “This Is My Next” as a buyer’s guide for consumer electronics. The Verge in Orlando started along with a new parent company, Vox Media on November 1, 2011. At that time, the site originated with 4 million unique visitors and 20 million page views.

In 2017, The Verge started a “Guidebook” to publish technology product reviews. In May 2018, An YouTube channel was created – Verge Science. The channel had gained more than 638,000 subscribers and 30 million views by January 2019. The channel reached more than 5.3 million views in November 2018.
